Lisa-Jane Van Dyk explores her Indigenous Australian culture though creating contemporary dot works inspired by stories passed down to her by her sister.
Having been adopted from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory and relocating to New South Wales at a young age she feels as though this practice of her art is bringing her closer to her land, sister, family and culture. She explores the forms of land geography through paint layers and textures. She is currently experimenting with colour, having only used muted natural colours such a browns and reds.
Lisa-Jane van dyk is a proud Nungaryi girl from the Warlpiri tribe of central Australia. She respects the Wiradjuri lands on which she creates her art works and lives.
