Luis Merchan

In my creative process, I seek to merge my passion for science fiction, painting and technology. I imagined a Transhuman Painter with capacities enhanced and expanded by new technologies; I create them, develop them, use them and experiment their possibilities. As an artificial sense that expands the perception of color and light beyond the limits of human vision, parallel worlds that emerge from chromatic transmutations in each painting, a historical pigment transformed into gold, unnatural color mixtures and the integration of artificial imagination and human imagination. I take the painting to the place of science fiction to look for adventures of color, fantasy and history; and I want to explore images that reflect fears, dreams and hopes produced by technological and scientific advances.
