Elephant-like, Dances, 3 - Limited Edition of 25 Print

I start this type of piece drawing lines of three colors, guided randomly into turns and shapes as one line, then the next and the third twist around each other, the intersections forming shapes. Each line is a different color, and the intersection of lines produce shapes bordered by different combinations of the three colors. Then, according to rules I decide upon, each color combination — all red, or two red lines and a blue line, for example — get assigned a color I use to fill in the line-created shape. At some point, a figure emerges. It is often first seen when I see eyes form. I then jettison the color rules and work the piece as I paint (digitally, in this case) any painting. In this case a happy elephant-like creature greets the world. I then digitally manipulate the piece to create variants. In this case, bold colors in a dark black environment.
