About The Artwork

Xu Bin's original oil painting, "Do Re Mi Fa So 7", is a mesmerizing representation of the connection between creativity and time. The painting depicts a scene where a violin floats in the sky while the painter himself sits on it, gazing straight ahead. Melodious notes emanate from the instrument, drifting down and transforming into blossoming flowers scattered throughout a field. In the wilderness, another time period of the painter is looking up into the distance. This delicate little painting is the artist's exploration of time and creativity. The violin represents the expression of art and creativity. It floats in the air, implying the freedom of human creativity without any constraints. This freedom allows us to go beyond the constraints of reality and create new concepts and ideas. Musical notes fall onto the field and become flowers, suggesting the magic of artistic creativity. The musical notes here can be understood as inspirations for human creativity. The realization of these ideas may be a beautiful, sustainable creation, or it may be a short-lived, perishable idea. This metaphor suggests that human creativity is a good life force that can make our world a better place. The people in the picture are symbols of time. He can be both the painter himself and the viewer himself. The person sitting on the violin represents the present and the future. He is staring ahead, embodying the state of mind of a seeker in pursuit of new knowledge and experience. Human exploration spirit and creativity come from curiosity about the unknown world. The person standing on the field and looking up at the sky represents the past. This imagery suggests that our imaginations can become reality. Human imagination and creativity can influence the future and change our lives.

I was born in 1969 in Guang'an, Sichuan, China. I graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Southwest Normal University and became a freelance artist afterwards. My early works were mainly oil paintings, influenced by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists such as Monet and Seurat. Through continuous learning and creative practice, I gradually integrated the artistic essence of Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Chagall and other artists, and combined with my own Chinese cultural background to develop my own mature artistic style.
