About The Artwork

Sunny Days Ahead - Yuletide Camellia By HSIN LIN 02/05/2020 Artist Acrylic on Premium quality triple primed gesso canvas, painted with palette knife and brushes. Signed at front and ready to hang. 91.4 x 60.9 x 3.5 cm Artwork painted extend to side panels. Affirmation – Sun shines on you, have faith in a sunny place. I have this beautiful camellia tree at my front yard which bloom gloriously from every Autumn till Winter. Flower always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. It is this time of the year that I can admire its grace whenever I walk pass by the flowering tree. The glossy leaves add shiny looking foliage with sunlight, along with the gorgeous red flowers and buds, it is captivating. Generally, camellia flowers symbolize love, affection, and admiration. Red camellias symbolize love, passion, and deep desire. The Yuletide Camellia is evergreen, meaning that the leaves stay on the plant all year round. These heat-loving, drought-tolerant Camellias thrive in hot weather conditions, needs minimal watering and can handle long periods with little to no rain. I present you these gorgeous camellias, bloom gloriously just for you, in every day, every season. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of this beautiful camellia tree every year, this is my 3rd depict and the former two had found their forever home, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite camellia tree. This artwork is painted during the lockdown, a special isolation diary that I wrote with my paint brushes. That is why I name this artwork – Sunny Days Ahead – to reminds us that the bright future is ahead of us if we hang on to hope. -WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES 2020 by H.Lin- May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. HSIN LIN, Award-winning Artist based in Melbourne, Australia. In Hsin Lin’s ongoing, signature contemporary floral series that feature native and common flowers we know, flowers represent life and each different type of flower has a unique symbolic meaning. Lin is inspired by her close observation of the natural world. Through a process of careful looking Lin is able to capture an incredible amount of intricate detail. To create the larger-scale work, Lin normally spends 6-12 months developing the intricate composition. The fine details such as the tiny petals have been developed through ten or more layers of paint. Lin describes that ‘although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in the paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story. Flowers represent us as humans, vases represent the body carrying our soul, protecting us like a shield. The weaving basket stands for connections—the bonds between families, friends and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole and we are stronger together.’ Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, remind us that we are alive and that life is vibrant, blossoming and full of potential.
