I Studied BA (hons)in Fine Art at Lancaster in the 1970’s and MA (hons)Fine Art in the late 1980’s in Nottingham, though none of this has any bearing on the watercolour works exhibited here, they are an entirely different thing for which formal art educational study has no bearing. It is important for me to separate this. Teaching in a formal educational background in Art and Design asks entirely different outcomes from these too. I write this to underline my commitment to art education whilst making these watercolours for a different purpose, I hope my viewers will enjoy them for what they are…. Primarily a maker I have naturally been involved with many interesting and enjoyable projects in the recent and distant past. I make kayaks for my own use and enjoy these on flat rivers and lakes, Guitar making from scratch has been extremely rewarding and some set design for various productions have filled some time too. Though teaching was by a long way the most rewarding experience I also felt something of the same working directly with patients in a Forensic secure setting with the NHS. Always open to new projects, most recently, designing and building for puppet theatre…. Ongoing.
