Adelita Pandini (b. 1977, São Lourenço do Oeste, Brazil) began painting at 25 while completing a Master’s in Geography at the University of Santa Catarina, initiating a practice that has become both personal and enduring. Influenced by classical and modern masters, Pandini developed her technique independently through observation, intuitive experimentation and a reflective, process-based approach. Her imagery refers mostly to familiar subjects, the relationship between home, ritual, and identity, exploring the sacred embedded in domestic experience. Since immigrating to Canada in 2006, Pandini has lived in Toronto and Montreal, and now divides her time between Brazil and Notre-Dame-de-Montauban, Quebec. The shifting geographies of her life continue to inform the textures and themes of her work. Pandini’s work has been shown internationally, including at Toronto ArtExpo (2008), Moscow International Art Salon (2009, 2012), and the Hall of Journalists in Moscow (2014). Since 2019, her artwork has been on display at the Generose Building, Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.
