Sheryl Dunshee-Menton

I am a contemporary mixed media oil painter residing in the Southwestern U.S. desert.

My work deals with non-objective abstraction in oils and mixed media. My process is intuitive, improvisational and Always Sensory.

My abstractions are tapestries of moving meditation where I Become the paint and the surface while listening intuitively to the dialogue of the work in progress.

My goal is to offer viewers an inward sensory experience where their imagination can wander and interpret each piece with their own personal inner voice.

Biography:
Originally from the Midwest, Sher Dunshee-Menton received her BFA training at the University of Iowa. She enjoyed a successful 20+year commercial art career prior to embarking on a 10-year blue-water sailing sabbatical. Coming ashore and returning to Arizona, Sher began to hone her dormant painting skills through open studios, workshops and professional painting intensives. After 5-years, she began experimenting and eventually developed her signature oils and mixed media textural technique. And additional 5-years of brush-time has transformed Dunshee-Menton into an ever-evolving contemporary artist who creates fresh, dynamic work with an authentic voice.
