Sara Banks

Born: London 1973 & currently living and working in Benfleet, Essex.

I work with a wide range of mediums and techniques, the outcome is typically always dictated by the medium chosen at the time of working.
Particular favorite's include: Latex, Textiles, Perspex and Collage in mixed media compositions with the overall intention of producing work which creates textural and dimensional depth.

Artist Statement.

My work is about many things but it is principally concerned with two in particular; Seeing and feeling. It is very difficult to sum up in few words why I, or any other artist do what they do. The broadest and most honest way I can describe what drives me to create my work is the desire to feel and observe the world around me in as full a way as is possible and then, to transpose that observation for others to experience.... In their very own way. To encourage the viewer to find somewhere new in the world of their very own, one of a kind.
Through the use and combination of a diverse range of material and process and with an enquiring eye that overlooks nothing, a truly personal and unique experience can be found.
