Susan Kemp

I work from home as artist, art teacher and language practitioner in Storms River Village in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. My trademark is variety. I work in various mediums and on a number of projects at the same time. I paint mostly in oils, love sculpting in clay, paper mache and mixed media. Subjects vary from realistic landscapes, still lives, seascapes and portraits to dreamscapes and imaginary scenes. Portraits are done in oils, pastels, pencil or charcoal, from life or from photographs; wildlife from photographs in conjunction with fellow-artist and photographer Jackie During; copies of the Old Master on commission. For mixed media assemblages, I use ceramics, plastic materials, fabric, hardware items, glue (glue gun), fiber glass, found materials (natural and man-made), foil, metal, craft paint, stone-sealer, varnish (whatever is required and comes to mind).
