This yogi lives under the sea amongst a menagerie of beautiful things. The idea of being able to go to any realm and transcend the physical through yoga is where I draw my inspiration for this piece. What if we could surround our selves with whatever we wished for, whatever we thought of, whatever we focused upon? Maybe we already do? This work is a reminder to be mindful of what we give our energy to. What we think, we become. This work is painted in the encaustic medium with seaweed, stone and digital artwork embedded as an underpainting. Encaustic painting is the final finish for this work on repurposed panel. The luster and finish is completely unique due to the encaustic finish. The bees wax and Damar resin are both delicate and durable. With care to keep away from extreme heat this encaustic work can last hundreds of years or longer. Some of the oldest encaustic painting (thousands of years old) are from the Fayum mummy portraits and hang in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. Do not leave encaustic art in hot cars on summer days where temperatures can exceed 150 degrees during transport or in direct sunlight. Think of your encaustic work like a child, a small pet or a decorative candle. Treat it with respect and care and it will last. I paint with the encaustic medium at a temperature between 180-200 degrees. I use a heat gun with temperatures of over 800 degrees to burn every layer into the work. Think of the encaustic finish as a heavy duty candle with an element of resin for strength and durability. The finish is uniquely exquisite.

I am a multidisciplinary, mixed media artist. Merging science and spirituality, I create art for uplifting spaces. Acrylic, encaustic, stone, wood, digital art and photography are a few of my favorite materials. Semi precious stones, crystal grids, photography, digital painting and video art are collaged and painted together through acrylic and (molten beeswax) encaustic medium using Hado, chanting, music and prayer to achieve my desired results. I consider my work, "Transformational, Energy Art", due to the use of scientific techniques, proven to change vibrations & frequencies. Science and metaphysics are merged to create art for uplifting places and spaces. I blend scientific theories and spiritual perspectives from Masaru Emoto, Louise L. Hay, Paramahansa Yogananda, Buddha, The Dahli Lama, Mother Theresa, Jesus Christ, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, yoga, crystal grids, feng shui, Kabbalah, prayer and sacred geometry to leave both the viewer and environment transformed.
