Tough Love is about the things that happen to you as a child that are good for you, but hurt. My childhood teddy is about to get stitched up. It's part of a series call Dry Your Tears which explores our lives as children; how robust we are, bouncing back from some of the cruelest moments in our lives. It’s only later that those experiences pop up in unpredictable ways. The works look at our childhood fears and the unusual and disproportionate way we see things. While there’s an exploration of life’s cruelty, there’s also a quiet euphoria, of all experiences being new and wondrous.
