This artwork is a reflection on the struggle, a young artists face in after university life. It happens that the situation of promoting art through social media looks more like, as I call it, a sad joke, where the only audience artist get is his friends and always supporting family. Similar, but worse, money involving situations happen outside of online world, where young creatives get offers to show their works in fake contemporary art fairs, random magazines and money making based exhibitions/prizes (like Parallax Art Fair). The only thing which matters for organisers of these "raffles" is the amount of money in artist's pocket, what results in an ok presented piles of random art and craft products. The desparate winners get their well deserved "Likes" as well as greeting cards from family and loyal followers.

BIO: I am Polish artist (b.1986), currently living and working (Wellington Studios) in Manchester, UK Winner of Ken Billany Prize 2013 the 2020 Manchester Open Granada Foundation Award I graduated in 2013, at Manchester Metropolitan University from BA Fine Art. My works had been exhibited internationally, included London, New York, Berlin, Raleigh (North Carolina) and Manchester. STATEMENT: My paintings depict uncanny spaces, some of which are populated with strange forms. In places, we can find organic shapes, animal parts or plant life; other elements are architectural, geometric or purely abstract. My influences come from many sources including the work of 20th century Avant-garde artists and our everyday environments. As an artist I am interested in how we might draw imagery back from our subconscious and to what extent we can visualise or represent our unconscious thoughts. Perhaps as a result of this, the forms and spaces in my work are imbued with a sense of a deeper dimension; of something lurking beneath the surface.
