About The Artwork

COMPLIMENTARY GIFT: As a gift to all who peruse this artwork, I have made a process video documenting the creation of this painting from start to finish. Please observe the making of ‘Sea Goddess at Bjelila’ at the link below: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WbGkhhsWn8Q&feature=youtu.be ABOUT THE PAINTING: This work is the eight painting created in my new fine art series called ‘The Mystics of Montenegro’, which is a growing body of paintings that I began creating in 2023 upon settling into my new residence in an ancient seaside village in Montenegro. This Mediterranean Revival piece uses bright bold colours synonymous with the style, and perfectly aligns with a Mediterranean-inspired interior. INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTWORK: This artwork is hand painted using Old Master painting techniques on a digital screen and then using the Giclée technique, the painting is converted onto museum- quality Hahnemühle German Etching paper as the final physical artwork. It is an exclusive one-of-a-kind, 1 of 1 artwork and will never again be produced in this size or on this type of paper.—This means you will be the sole collector of this fine artwork worldwide. INSPIRATION: Stories of mermaids date back to the first ever written accounts of human existence, and tales of these mystical creatures have been present in cultures across the world. For me, mermaids remind that life is mystical, magical, ethereal.—That possibilities can be endless and that there are beautiful and miraculous things in life that can exist and occur beyond what we see or think logically possible. The mermaid I have painted has a strong and still presence, with a beauty and mystique that cannot be ignored. She commands attention and seeks to communicate. What message she has for each person will be different. She sits on the rocks of the waters in Boka Bay at a little fisherman’s village called Bjelila, renowned for its rustic seaside ambience and stone houses dating back as far as 700 years.
