LOOSE STRINGS WITHIN

Confusion and doubt lie within
Hindered by the past
Clinging to disguised illusions
I am broken within, as I loathe the road ahead
I am descending into a lake of muddy water
Will I drown in its shallow waters
Oh, where is there mercy to be found
Calling upon the grace of god, as I tremble down
Promised; the meek will inherit the earth
Have I been given a false promise
Or am I too blind to see the truth
I have no more wishes to grasp for
I am done with the eternal voyage
I shall reside into nothingness
But yet nature besets me with her quiet whisper
Forget yesterday and live upon the miracle of now
I must be silent to listen to her

I am found to be still
Aware of my breath, the body which cradles the soul
I am struck by the benevolence of Natures offerings
As grapes dangle down from the vine, offering their sweetness
Glancing at the blades of the grass meadows, gleaming as they wattle in the wind
The sweet fragrance of the frangipani flowers with their ornate rich colour
How have I forgotten the miracle and wonder of ‘being’
Life has been kind, it is I who has been the fool
Instead I chose to follow a rational pursuit, instead of the seed I inherited, and forgot to reap
For too long I have neglected to trust and rest in the bosom of life longing for itself
A new tide has come upon me, I am born again

Meled Taouk is an Australian born artist who has been developing a style which is essential to his purpose of expressing the ‘honest self’. “My art is derived from within, I draw my inspiration from real experiences”. The Artist believes all artistic vision is inherently from an internal source that can only be considered as divine. He is known to draw from his own personal experiences that he witnesses within the boundaries of his life, from all that he has felt internally, to the many emotions he feels throughout his life. “I never really look at my Art, I am the Art itself’. Meled approaches his work with a conceived idea or an elusive image at first, encouraging a set style or attitude to be taken on as an expressive outlet, and then eventually he become stimulated as the work takes a life of its own through an emotional outlet during the performance of the work. “I become captivated by the works progressive development, encouraging what works to hold or expose a subconscious truth and beauty, creating a life of its own”. Through the artists given passage of ‘living’, he is provoked with feelings from all he endures and witnesses, to ultimately create art that exemplifies the human condition. “I try to capture that, I try to capture my living narrative as if painting is a language of personalised imagery of journal entries”. “I understood more, when I felt more”
