About The Artwork

It began as a yawn. It was so weak that it could not be felt or heard. The Tectonic plates move and collide, with one riding over the other; the precursor to mountain building, earthquakes and volcanoes. The mighty outburst of energy then produces seismic waves that ripple across land and water, causing surface faulting; tsunamis; soil liquifactions; ground resonances; landslides and ground failure. The now massive body- waves travel through Earth's inner layers, becoming so violent, they toss people and destroy cities. Viewed from space, this is seen as a magnificent light and sound show that no man can emulate.
