Rutting Gemsbok Drawing

The gemsbok or South African oryx is a large antelope in the genus Oryx. It is native to the arid regions of Southern Africa, such as the Kalahari Desert. Some authorities formerly included the East African oryx as a subspecies. What amazes me is that for a creature weighing upto 300kg it can run at 60kph (37mph). I love this picture and think it is a great addition to the wildlife series of pencil drawing I am undertaking. Drawn on Canson Bristol Board Smooth paper and measuring 55cm wide and 35cm high, the complete drawing took around 30+ hours to finish.
