Seen and not heard - Original Sold Drawing

Part of the Manimal works looking at how we humanise animals and animalise humans in society , culture, history and language,. far from being a new concept Im aware that this subject matter has been used in lots of various formats and here I pay homage to that, but use my own personal experiences and observations. I use an element of humour which goes to engage with, rather than belittle and poke fun. here thinking of the phrase as quiet as a mouse and that together with the seen and not heard of children Ive blended those terms into a picture that the romatises ideal of a child, that is confined in a pose not natural for a child, which restricts there humanity for the cause of a performance of being a child in a more traditional ideal. the child doesnt demonstrate, voice opinion, or have a larger conceptual notion of whats happening too it.
