About The Artwork
With these drawings I embraced the challenge of working with a form that lacks structure and is continually changing and moving. The stark quality of the drawings could only be achieved by the absence color. For me, there was no other choice but to use ink as the medium for these drawings. The fact that ink is contained within this creature’s body and used as a defense mechanism directly informs the work. This work was created on a buff off white handmade Italian paper using ink.
