About The Artwork
I love trains, and tracks, and the fact that we are somehow trapped and obliged to contemplate the landscapes go by. On my journeys from Brighton and the seaside to London, I often do just that. Sit, and draw, and marvel at how we glimpse memories, places, which we then carry with us. They are brief and often beautiful, sometimes unmistakable, sometimes ordinarily just an 'everywhere'. My work is not a cognitive analysis or a reflection on landscapes, but more a contemplation of a moment, the recording of the brevity of memory in drawings. They are subject to the mood, the light, the sounds and acts that make the meaning of 'place' so distinct. As an artist with an architectural background, cities, and the way one moves from and within them, are often the subject of both my drawings and paintings.

Her training as an architect strongly influences her work and her passion for drawing. Her MA in Sustainable Design opened the way to new gestural abstract work focusing on opacities, interdependence, balance and our relationship to Time and how it impacts the environment.
