Welcome to my toy store. Style: Unique, bold, fresh and simple blended with originality, truth and a splash of eroticism. I try not to label or confine my work to a style or type, I try and create it to appeal to everyone and anyone, knocking on the door of your childhood and the inner self that you hide from. Born 1970 in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, now residing in Devon UK. A childhood spent drawing then an adulthood of living and now after a time of illness back to to creating art. A self taught artist using a digital platform to represent the ‘modern’ world we are led to believe we now live in, using simple shapes and minimal colours in a very busy complicated world to communicate with, inviting you into a world where shapes are spaces and spaces are shapes, provoking imagination and thought. Everything we see is made up of just shapes and colours yet people can get offended and confused by them, struggling to understand what they see, for example nudity, people of different colour, people who dress or look different, genders and sexuality yet when people are born and young they don’t judge or see that difference, it doesn’t exist, do they see shapes and colours different? That is what I try and create with my art, a place where you can go back to and be you, to find and look through those eyes again. The use of angles in my work is to represent the fact we all see things differently and from different angles, also including a border and purposely taking the art over and across the border to represent the fact borders can be restrictive and that we restrict our lives with things we see but fear because we do not understand. I like to capture attitude, sound, emotion and motion, blending 2D with 3D to create a depth and world that feels possible to step in to, to journey in, to play in. Each piece is an invite for you to enter, asking you to explore both it and yourself, to interact with and question each other.
