About The Artwork
For a few weeks I painted the fabulous Fish Island from the modestly furnished boat. I once read about him in an old logbook. But only now that I happened to find him in the middle of the ugly ocean, I believed in what the old captains of the famous sailing ships were essentially convinced of. I painted him the way I saw him. When I brushed the last stroke of the paint, the dense fog covered the island. When it vanished, the island was gone. He just disappeared. Perhaps someone in the future will be lucky like me and see him again with his own eyes. In the meantime he will be immortalized in my painting that I am sharing with you now.
