About The Artwork
My woven work aspires to fill space with a sense of alertness, inquiry, and transformation. There is both calmness and exuberance in a woven surface. The idea is to fill a plane with enough information to mesmerize, to create movement and flow and depth using units of repetition either exactly the same, or merely similar. The Wabash River has been a backdrop to my life for the past 17 years, since I relocated from the city to a rural town. I still am mesmerized by the qualities of the landscape.
