This painting was on view at the “Fugues & Preludes” exhibition in October at the Eclipse Mill Building. For more information on this exhibit contact Ralph Brill at Brill Gallery Productions, (845) 661-3593. This exhibit featured 22 paintings, the majority of which were executed in 2019. The first works of the “ Preludium” project had their premier in this exhibition. An artist’s reception with the artists of the Eclipse Mill Building featured a lively and fun open discussion. This is part of a quartet of new paintings exhibited. This quartet are yellow red and blue, with the fourth including all 3 colors. These paintings feature a return to open ended alchemy elements and continue to use musical structures as inspiration.

United States
A fifth generation San Franciscan, descended from artists, I have lived as a nomad, moving as I have to six different states in the USA and working in twice as many studios, and so of necessity it was the universal values found in international art histories, comparative theologies and spiritual practices which most consistently informed the direction of my work rather than the specifics of one physical place or tradition. My design processes included rorschach prints, shibori and silkcreen. My first design job was a tree for a feminist version of Waiting for Godot. My first public art exhibitions were groups of wall hangings sewn and painted from recycled fabric scraps in the ARTERY African Art Gallery & Circle of Friends Craft Gallery both on Haight Street in 1978. I practiced as an independant curator between 1986 - 2004, working with masters such as Steven Arnold, Bruce Conner, and Bob Rauschenburg, publicizing my related writings on these and other artists until 2002. My awards for painting include a Sugarman Grant, Gottlieb Emergancy Grant, & Rauschenberg’s Change Foundation. Over 60 exhibitions include Atlantic Center for the Arts, Holter Museum, Louisiana State Museum, Florida Gulf Coast University, the Baker Artis Museum & the Albany State Museum.
