About The Artwork
This was a commissioned painting of a families two best friends Addy and Hundley. Every dog has a unique emotion that they wear on their face at times and I tried to capture this emotion in the eyes and facial expression for this painting. Blending the dogs together adds a special closeness. I wanted to leave much of the body out but finish the painting with an artistic take on fur towards the bottom.

I derive much of my ideas and inspiration from the great outdoors of Colorado. Spending time fly fishing this dynamic landscape I see brilliant sunsets upon ever changing rivers and lakes that I grab inspiration from. Whether its one of my dog paintings, a horse, or my fish the choice of color mixed with abstract elements was inspired by the western high mountain desert and plains landscapes that I now call home.
