About The Artwork

Spesific principles, such as surprising alternation between open forms and continuous line, lead my painting. By optical illusion, shivery nuances on background cause impression of movement. Tension appears between bright and lightened or greyish tones and by lines which maintain their energy because of breaking before painting’s edge. I use bright color sparely, because I don’t want it to satisfy eye, but make viewer desire more. Contours don’t only limit: uniting, opennes and organic nature describe need to belong.

Born in 1978 Salo, Finland. Gratuated from Aalto University of Art and Design (MA). Has also a separated degree from Turku University as a master of educational sciences. Currently works as an artist, art teacher and critic. Lamnaouer describes her painting as follows. “Optical illusions and ambiguous shaping are most important starting points. Typically my painting is directed by specific compositional principles, like open forms and continuous line, which together with rising and falling forms create free rhythm. The rippling colours on background and optical illusion interact and cause an impression of movement. Balance is a result of partly symmetrical, repeated forms. Tension is created by contrast made by mixing bright colour with complementary or achromatic colours, but also with lines, which break just before edge. In this way, lines restore their energy. My works are cloissonistic, because of emphasized lines familiar to Art Nouveau. These lines don’t only limit. Open, organic and combining elements describe a need to belong. "
