About The Artwork
Carousel Horse was inspired by carousels, Paris, fauvism, and German Expressionism. I wanted the painting to have a dream like feel. I have a love hate relationship with carousels. I love carousels because they are beautiful and whimsical and I hate them because they always give me motion sickness. I used the acrid yellow green to symbolize nauseous feeling I remember getting after a spin.

I am a multi-media artist from Oro Valley, Arizona. I graduated from Texas Woman's University in spring of 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. I also have a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University. My art work is an ongoing exploration of life and the world which surrounds me. I have always been fascinated with finding new ways of depicting emotions and moods through my use of line, movement, and texture. Creating art work is like a puzzle that I am constantly trying to solve.
