The Divine Virtues:
With this series, I played with the concept of biblical terms having been frequently used as girls’ names in the “old days”. I searched for girls that would physically express their names, literally jumping with joy when each girl was found. I did not know at the time, but these three names are indeed The Divine Virtues. I found the fitting Bible verse translation in the little silver edged King James Bible my parents gave me:

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Cor 13:3

Charity loves her neighbor. She holds and protects, offering shelter and consolation to those smaller and weaker than she. Because of her love, she enables others to be strong. Her actions are so simple but so powerful.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2
