About The Artwork
Part of an ongoing series of figures in water. Inspired by multiple connections I have to water and what water can often represent. The feeling I'm going for is one of contemplation and a certain contentment and acceptance. These works on glass are part drawing/part painting and can be a bit of a technical challenge. The paint is applied to the back side, starting with the highlights and ending with the background. The support is a vintage, craftsman-era window that I've trimmed down a bit, filling holes on the sides but leaving the distressed surface intact, revealing it's age. The frame has then been painted in an off-white with a soft sating finish, to coordinate with many interiors. For 4 months starting on June 1. 2022 this piece has been moved to 'Not For Sale' as it is part of a solo show at Perry & Carlson in Mount Vernon, WA. If it doesn't sell during that time it will be returned here to the 'For Sale' category. In the meantime, prints are still available for sale through Saatchi.
