About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by the ancient rural dwellers in the eastern part of Nigeria, the Igbo's to be precise. Back in the days when water was gotten from the stream near the village, the young maidens in the family would go to the stream on a daily bases to fetch water for the family's use. It was a beautiful sight, the way the ladies, walked back from the stream swaying their hips, with their clay pots balanced on their heads. The painting captures the beauty of this scenario.
