About The Artwork

It relate to dreams and fantasies and their verification over time. Imagination that push us to act, but which often turns out to be an illusion. The project Force of Gravity is related to the atmosphere, to the outside, although some of the images touch the root zone - deep under the surface of hidden causes. Metaphorically, people talk about walking on the ground or rocking in the clouds. We gravitate downwards. It is easy to assume that at the top there are peaks to be conquered, victory. In turn, at the bottom, there is a place of failure, fall. However, the force of attraction also prevents us from rising too high, flying away and dying. Haven't we spent enough time as kids looking in the sky, trying to find shapes in the clouds? And later, haven't we tried to find meanings in what’s hidden, undefined? Haven't we all experienced childish megalomania, faith in an extraordinary future, full of great opportunities and at the same time a paradoxical feeling of inability and loss in an incomprehensible world? In adulthood, pathos collapses to make room for something else, but our imagination and the need to overcome resistance make one fight for dreams when they are destroyed. Hence, the struggle with gravity and the fulfillment of man's dream of flight could be an example.

“I am delighted by this exhibition. It displays a rare sense of beauty, the drama of the world and man's place in it. The paintings are technically bold and highly accomplished (...). It's a very pleasant surprise for me that something like this Is So close. There's a huge sense of drama and tension in the work and a great question mark regarding human existence. Also, a very dynamic organisation of space ... the images are superb" Prof. Andrzej Strumiłło about „The desert” project Aleksandra Batura (b.1982) a Warsaw based artist and mother of two sons. Aleksandra does easel painting. She has undertaken numerous video projects, experimented with painting and drawing techniques as well as designed and completed several mural paintings.
