About The Artwork
Dreams mean a lot in our life. Dreams show us who we are. The painting was created in a realistic manner on a hot summer as I lived in a cosy old house in the center of Lörrach, a small place close to Basel and Black Forest. On a small piece of paper I wrote in Russian "Don't forget to turn on your dreams", on a small matchbox "USRR". I was born in 1989, still in the USSR but shortly before it ceased to exist. And even though I lived in that country extremely short period of time, I'm extremely affected by the regime and its attitudes and tend to forget, that now I live in Germany and some of my former dreams came true.
