About The Artwork

Dystopia#1 Oil on ricycled plywood This is the first of a series of painting inspired by our current society: we're experiencing terror and oppression closer than ever. What we were thinking far and distant is getting closer, we should be worried about travelling, we are constantly monitored and we're starting to be suspicious each other. In this painting, which also is a tribute to German Expressionist movies, I intended to show how we can feel trapped in oppression and fear: the girl portraited is clearly worried, almost frightened, the room is oppressive, outside the window a desolate landscape that can be either a war landscape or a big city after an attak. Nobody else is there, just she sitting with her fear and her loneliness.
