About The Artwork
Before this painting of John Lennon, I did a clay bust of him. While I loved working and sculpting with my hands, I really missed the array of color I typically work with on the majority of my pieces. In my painting I wanted to show the celebrated creative genius that is John Lennon, but also highlight his sarcastic and more reflective nature. I likened him to F. Scott Fitzgerald's Dr. Eckleburg of the infamous "Great Gatsby" omnipotent billboard presence.
