Edith and the Borrowed Coat.., Painting

Having just graduated in Glasgow in Contemporary Art Practice I am focusing my creative practice in painting. Using little snippets from my daily life and work I am keen to capture wee scenes of everyday things that might go unnoticed. Using inspiration from my home and my studio I like to offer simplified scenes focusing on texture, form and colour. Collage is often used within my work, building up the layers of interest, using textural materials that emphasis the tactile qualities within the subject matter. Using layers of acrylic paints separated by layers of glaze medium gives the paintings a depth and transparency.
