About The Artwork
An Illustration commissioned by Metta Spencer's Peace Magazine (www.peacemagazine.org). The drawing was in response to Mel Watkins book review article on Steven Pinker's recent book, The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence has Declined and Joshua S. Goldstein's book, Winning the War on War: The Decline of Armed Conflict Worldwide. If you look closely you can see that it is an owl shaman sitting in the Manitoba sky on a mountain of ammunitions neutralised by blossoming wildflowers. This illustration is dedicated to my little niece Ella who loves to draw!!
