About The Artwork
My work is based on pure intuition, inspired by the natural world. Organic and biological forms add to the allusion of the components being in the process of revealing themselves. This painting explores surface depth without violating the 2-dimensional surface. A small stream frozen in ice with a large diagonal crack that I almost stepped on inspired the image. Leaves, twigs and debris trapped beneath the ice created color and pattern forms.
