I wanted to give two examples of illustrating the opposing ideologies of the working class. Sometime in the distant Soviet past, I had the opportunity to join the artists at a factory and help draw a huge stand - a worker, a collective farmer and an intellectual with glasses in the middle. The stand was designed in a monumental style without a hint of eroticism and the absence of any temptation, it was done according to the order "must", but I want to dilute it with cheap wine so as not to work dry, where the main carrot was "paradise in communism." And now, after a long time, I "wanted" to depict the series "Working abroad" as opposed to the "must" system. Yes, yes, this is from Freud's grandfather, where the carrot is the temptation of the ancient instincts "I want". If you want a cool car, you have to earn money or steal successfully, and again the struggle between the two systems "want" and "must". So, there is no escape from the struggle of the dual consciousness). It's another matter when you love your job and they also get paid for it - this is called happiness.

Born in 1965 in New Bug, Ukraine. Studied Deprpetrovskoe State Art School named Vucetic (1983-86), the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (1986-93). Lives and works in Kiev. The main content and essence of creativity of Igor Konovalov - the sphere of communication in the modern society. For two decades the artist explores and visualizes the processes of interaction between a man and art as well as powerful influence on the society of information flows. Igor Konovalov notes the existence of modern and fast-paced space of invisible particles of information. These particles convey the infinite and unique in its speed digital data stream that conquered the whole world. Never before humanity had such an instantaneous transmission of information. The artist invites the viewer to see current information of a particle in the form of "bunnies" - quick and swift in reproduction in their distribution. Their moving images fill the entire space of modern life. The artist painted the first of these forms in 2008, defining them as angels of the new information world. Igor Konovalov has not only translated the information into dynamic, memorable forms but also has given it pulsating color energy. The artist's painting differs by refined harmony. Igor Konovalov is great in the magic of color, using the full range of modern pigments, creating the rich contrasts on the paintings and the subtle nuances of the color combinations. Now the information intervention continues. But the "bunnies"of Igor Konovalov bring light and joy because the right to choose information is left to a man. Olga Konovalova, Ph.D. in History of Arts
