Full of dark clues. The inspection sticker sets the scene in 1977. The view is from the passenger seat. Who cruises around late at night at the wheel of a vintage Porsche? This painting is about that guy. Don't ask what that is on the dashboard and the steering wheel. So the story behind this very personal painting is of a long-ago introduction to the ways of the world. Perhaps it's a little creepy. It's clearly not the nostalgic celebration of sports car culture that one might assume at first glance. The title was taken from the lyrics to a song by Throwing Muses that some of you might know. Oil on linen. Includes a metal floater frame in 'German silver' with a satin finish.
