About The Artwork

Indian Summer is the first painting in the series "Second Chances". It was inspired by childhood memories growing up in Lebanon and depicts the ten-day period of summerlike warmth and sunshine we experienced every year right in the middle of November, a cold and gloomy month. The painting is rich in layers of bold colours flowing across the canvas and applied by alternating between paintbrush, palette knife and spray paint, full of positive energy - a breath of fresh air and hope.

“I tend to mix grounded experience with fantasy, relying on the contours of my journey to add layers and textures, blending deep blue memories, orange hopes, violet dreams, and red passion for life. My art gives me the freedom to dive into the essence of who I am. Layer upon layer, it reflects a range of emotional experiences from chaos, uncertainty, and sweet nostalgia, to celebrating joie de vivre, unity, and new beginnings.” Patricia Saada Baumann’s art is a continuous reflection of her multifaceted cultural identity and her journey from Lebanon to France, England, Italy and now the US. Alongside her corporate job, she attended various art workshops and obtained a Graphic Design certification from Southern Methodist University. She participated in several group and juried exhibitions and fairs, and her award-winning work was exhibited in a couple of Dallas Design District galleries in Texas. She participated in The Other Art Fair Dallas in 2024 and 2022, with her work featured in “New This Week Collection” curated by Rebecca Wilson and “Best of Fair Collection” curated by Nicole Garton. In October 2023, Patricia was selected by the Florence Biennale Curatorial Board to showcase her work at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy, during the XIV Florence Biennale exhibition “I AM YOU - Individual and Collective Identities in Contemporary Art and Design”. She was featured in the “XIV Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea e Design” catalogue. Drawing inspiration from life experiences and travels that enriched her artistic sensitivity with the beauty of the multiple cultures she embraced, Patricia dives into the essence of who we really are and who we were before the influences of societal and cultural exchanges, reflecting challenges, perseverance, and faith in life. Abstract painting enables her to intuitively project onto canvas her emotional reflections, bridging her past and present with continued self-discovery. She works with oils and acrylics and loves experimenting with new forms of media to create texture.
