Indochine Painting

After returning from my last trip to Asia I just couldn't hold it in anymore .... The cycle of air pollution through each week was just too insane. Sundays, were a bit murky (the factories north, in China were closed), trekking on the walking paths up on Hong Kong island ... Mondays, were even more beautiful and the sky was clear (as the factories had been closed all day Sunday) ... then Tuesdays, heavier. Wednesdays, worse. And so on, til you could barely see across the harbor by Friday and Saturday. Then the whole pattern would continue again ... Sunday's nicer, Monday's beautiful, Tuesday heavy and grey... Wednesdays, worse ... Why? Because that is the pollution coming down to Hong Kong, from the factories in China ... Then, coming back here (we are so fortunate!. But no, it is all so interconnected) to but once again, watching everyone here, in the West so completely oblivious to what is happening. It's all too interconnected to be so oblivious. SO yes, this is called " Indochine "; the same thing is happening in India. Business is " on fire" in that area of the globe, and so is the entire planet as a result. This painting is ' heavy '; it was something else before, but I didn't have a blank canvas, and I just couldn't hold all this in anymore, so I painted over ... and there's Alot of paint on this ... it is heavy, and heavy to hold.
