Oil on linen 14.5x18x2.5cm (5.5x7x1in) 2019, ready to hang. This tiny portrait is painted from a photograph I took during a photographic session for the painting ‘Fragile’. Lorenzo, a boy from Vigevano, kindly accepted to pose for that big, complicate painting but, when he entered the studio with the lights and camera all set for the shoot, he suddenly got shy. It took quite a while to convince him that it was fun to pose but, meanwhile, I had the chance to take some photographs of him in some very natural, touching positions. In this particular shoot he was hiding under a table, looking at the camera as if he was playing hide and seek. I selected this picture and used it for a fast, gestural painting. This is an oil on linen artwork mounted on a wooden canvas and ready to hang. It is signed on the front/back and it is shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
