Biography Mike Halem Born on Nov. 12, 1960 in EL Fayoum , Egypt After several years of living in Austria and Italy, Mike Immigrated to USA in 1985 to attend United States International University in San Diego where he obtained his MBA , and DBA - ABD Strategic Management. Since Jan. 2000, Mike has been studying Painting and drawing at several community colleges in San Diego. Artist Statement My artwork takes a critical view of my life journey and my inner struggle. This is the way I tell my story and express how I really feel. I paint the world I see in my visions and my dreams. Through painting, I can visit my imaginary world to speak my mind the way I see it. My work is only successful if it expresses how I feel. In my previous works, I developed mystical, figurative and abstract paintings. Most of my subjects contain figures with dramatic expressions and colors. Others describe places I have visited in my imagination and dreams. Current Work In my current work, The World of the Unconscious Mind, the subject is my dreams and visions I experience during my sleep. In this series, I am painting from the sketches I made in my dream journal which describe what I saw in my dreams.
