About The Artwork
Painting made on hand-cut scrap of 300-weight cotton paper, measures 8.5 x 4.5 inches or 21.8 x 11.6 cm., depicts late winter in northwestern Wisconsin at Crex Meadows, home of wolves and sharp-tailed grouse, where marsh grass was harvested in the 1800s to weave floor material in the era before linoleum. Art is mounted on mat hand-made from recycled paper and cattail seed heads.
