This is an original abstract painting in acrylic and ink on 1.5 inch deep gallery stretched canvas. It is ready to hang with or without a frame (not included). The three forms that make up the foreground of this composition are made up of specially prepared clear acrylic medium with lines of pigmented paints partially mixed in which has been poorer or splashed onto the canvas, drawing out hard-candy lines of pigment in the spreading liquid medium. The poured medium sits on top of a layer of thick acrylic gloss gel which has been streaked with inks and paints and then sprayed with water to break surface tensions and coax the pigments to spread out and mix together. All of this sits on top of a loose, mostly pastel underpainting of pale blues and yellows, just barely visible through the chaos. The sides of the canvas were intentionally painted along with the underpainting, and show the same pale blue-yellows, with drips and splotches acquired during the painting process. They help to tell the story of the paintings creation, but can be covered with a frame if so desired. The canvas is secured to the stretcher in the back, and no staples or nails are visible on the sides. It comes with a hanging wire installed on the back for easy installation. This painting will come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
