About The Artwork

Since the eruption of the information age, the western world has shown a increasing faith in mankind. Instead of belief in God, man now rests his destiny in one's own competence and ability to make wise decisions. This means that one is fully responsible for their own successes and failures. What contribution has this to today's depression wave? Our time's complexity has evolved to make information and goods constantly available. The expectations of efficiency, achievement and success are proportionally inherent. Whereas misfortune in the old days was explained by God's will, the blame now rests on ones own shoulders. A modern society can potentially see the benefits of religion as a means to carry the burden. Today's society could have benefited from a culture that allows it to fail occasionally. But it is religion really what is needed?

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

A good painting is a most beautiful object. The preparation of the canvas, the composition, the lighting, the palette, the brushstrokes, the texture, and the subject should all be treated with the utmost reverence. I am always pushing myself and always trying to achieve something new with every painting. Conceptually and stylistically my collection seems jagged and unconnected, but it is always in an endeavor to move forwards. To create beautiful objects. If my latest painting is not a step forward, it is a failure. Born in Gisborne, New Zealand, in 1986, I have always been painting. From 2004 – 2008 I studied architecture at the University of Auckland and after that moved to Norway to join MIR. I have studied under many artists along the way, most recently with Odd Nerdrum, here in Norway.
