I live in the desert southwest and Carlsbad, California is where I regain my sanity when things get too hot at home. I always make sure to visit the beach overlook at sunset as the colors are always spectacular. That's when I saw them. A woman and her Boston Terrier, taking in the last moments of the day. I knew I wanted to paint them. She seemed so relaxed, while her ever watchful friend sized me up. "I pose no threat, little buddy'. I hope you feel the relaxation and peace only a sunset in Carlsbad, California can deliver.
