About The Artwork
This young woman was lost in thoughts. I was inspired by her attitude and posture. I have been doing a series of paintings of people on the subway. It's an opportunity to observe the diversity of people in New York City and, generally, how they manage to get along. I work from photos so I can capture the gestures of the figures. Oil paint has long been my medium. I like the way the paint layers and flows from the brush.
