Radha (Sanskrit: राधा, ), also called Radhika, is a Hindu goddess and a consort of the god Krishna. She is worshiped as the goddess of love, tenderness, compassion and devotion. She is considered as an avatar of Lakshmi and is also described as the chief of gopis (milkmaids). During Krishna's youth, she appears as his lover and companion.. In contrast, some traditions and scriptures accord Radha the status of the eternal consort and wife of Krishna. Radha is said to accompany Krishna in all his incarnations and Sakhi means friend. So this painting depicts in a full moon night Radha the consort of god Krishna with her two friends had gone to a pond to fetch some water .And in this phenomenon her two friends were laughing just sitting back of her to see Radha s distracted face as she found a mayor pankh (peacock feather) in front of her over the water. (peacock feather is symbol of Krishna). Thus indirectly it shows her lover Krishna is everywhere with her .So in this case physical presence hardly matters . And we can see the total painting has a distinct style, i.e pattern form, inculcated by me after many practices. So in this style we can assume by seeing the mountains and grazing fields they had gone far away from their home town but still their God Krishna is present .Thus this painting baffles distance by saying God can be achieved if true love is there .

Hello, I am Soham Biswas ,born in 1997 . I come from a Bengali family in Kolkata which had always served as a root to my passion for art. From my childhood, I have been inspired by the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma which drove me to pursue my journey in this field . My main focus and area of interests when it comes to painting is Hindu mythology and how it is being linked with our present life and society . Painting and drawing became a part of my life ever since I was a little boy and it only propelled to new heights after I started studying fine arts at Birla academy of art and culture. Through rigorous practice, I mastered the techniques of traditional art but it was contemporary art which gave me a voice of my own. Ever since that happened, I have started to see my life in a different perspective .Through contemporary art, I am able to express myself in ways I couldn’t have imagined before. I adopted contemporary art into my practices and slowly developed a style of my own.
