I started this painting with circles in yellow, red and blue og the white canvas. Then I mixed a bit of the three colors for each circle, and created abstract versions of flowers. After that I worked the background in order to create greylight background. Later again I added leafs into the flowers and the background. And finally, I created a waterly surface, which could be created by a light wind over a water surface in a fiord or sound, like meltwater free of sediments and suspended material. At that time the painting reminded me of a recent funeral with the most spectacular flowers I have ever seen. The titel finally, during a Paul McCartney rock show at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, emerged I suggested 'flowers and water' but my sun, after a Jimmy Hendrix instrumental played by sir Paul, nailed it by suggesting the title: "Resonance".

Zonation paintings focus on integrating and balancing the elements: lines, tones and colours. I follow an expressionist painting philosophy inspired by Cézanne, Kleé and followers. Motives: Copenhagen cityscapes, croquis, stilleben. Artworks in acrylics, oil, aqua oil, multicoloured chalk, aquarelle and pencils. Artist video: http://vimeo.com/5322606 Artist podcast (Fr): http://podcloud.fr/podcast/choses-a-savoir-art/episode/artiste-a-decouvrir-hans-jorgen-henriksen I use the acronym 'de Hansi' in order to distinct my painting activities from my professional work as a hydrologist. I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
